The Cinder-blocks Will Be Filled With Concrete In Two stages When the "Cells" Are Built 1/2 Of The Way Up To The First Floor & At The Top As To Insure That There Are No Air Pockets Left In The Cells At Completion. This Two Step Process Is More Expensive Than Filling The Blocks At The Completion Of Laying Them, But Insuring The Consistency Of The Concrete Inside The Cells Is Well Worth The Added Expense. Progress Mid Day January 16, 2010  Stage Of Construction On January 20, 2010  Top 50% Of Block Cells Filled With Concrete.  Steel For Second Floor Support Delivered To Job Site On January 25, 2010 & Put In Place On January 26, 2010.  The Steel Support System Is Necessary Because The New Home Owners Have Designed Their New Home With A Smaller Second Floor Footprint Than The First Necessitating Steel Columns To Support The Load Bearing Walls.  The Bottom Support Bolts Are Driven About 10 Inches Into The Concrete.  A Wooden Strip Is Placed At The Bottom Of The Foundation where The Concrete Will Be Poured And Removed To Insure The Presence Of An Expansion Joint.
